COURSE DESCRIPTION

Has it ever happened that you come across a shop in a mall or an independent building, some elements in the window of a store like a mannequin or any other design captures your attention, you take a peek inside and enter the store?

It has happened with nearly all of us. Have you ever noticed what led you to the store in the first place? The Visual Merchandising basics course is strategically designed to make you aware about such elements.

The course is categorised into four main sections which are explained in 12 independent topics. The four categories are -

The first section introduces you to the concept of visual merchandising, its importance, its history, roles and responsibilities of a visual merchandiser, and principles of design in VM. The second section covers different elements of VM that will help you elevate the appearance of a store like themes, style, props,materials, lighting, mannequin styling, and layout. This section will guide you through the same.

The third section will help you understand key details and significance of branding and signage. Case studies of national and international brands have been provided to make learners understand the importance of different elements in VM.
