MODULE 1 INTRODUCTION & OVERVIEW

For all the aspiring and professional Fashion Designers, the course is designed to empower you with various creative, practical, and technical aspects of Fashion Designing. Through this course, you will experience quality learning at its best through lifetime access and value-added resources.

 

MODULE 2 : BASIC INTRODUCTION, TRACING AND PLACEMENT OF DESIGN 

In this topic you will learn Basic embroidery techniques and Learn how to trace embroidery and transferring on fabric with easy method. Embroidery is one of the oldest forms of surface ornamentation on fabrics and garments.  It is an art of beautiful drawing, harmonious color and elaborate needle skill. This topic includes placements of design and its importance.

MODULE 3 : BASIC STITCHES- RUNNING STITCH AND ITS VARIATIONS

In this topic you will learn about fundamental techniques of hand embroidery stitches like running stitch and back Stitch. The running stitch or straight stitch is the basic stitch in hand-sewing and embroidery, on which all other forms of sewing are based. And Back stitch is the variation of the running stitch.

 

MODULE 4 : CHAIN STITCH AND ITS VARIATION 

The chain stitch is an ancient embroidery technique, used in many parts of the world. This stitch is a sewing and embroidery technique in which a series of looped stitches form a chain-like pattern.  Learn about variations of chain stitch like a magic chain, cable chain, open chain, Lazy daisy stitch with the given step-by-step guide.

MODULE 5 : BUTTONHOLE STITCH AND ITS VARIATION 

Learn about the technique of how it is worked, its functions and variations. A buttonhole is one of the basic stitches in hand embroidery which forms a whole family of loop stitches. You will practically learn about its variations like a long and short buttonhole, wheel buttonhole, full circle buttonhole, semicircle buttonhole.

 

MODULE 6 : COUCHING STITCH

Learn about an interesting technique called “couching” and create a unique look and texture. In embroidery, couching is a technique in which yarn or other materials are laid across the surface of the ground fabric and fastened in place with small stitches of the same or a different yarn. Here you will learn how to do embroidery by using two different colour threads with the given step-by-step guide. 

MODULE 7 : FEATHER STITCH AND ITS VARIATIONS

This stitch just curls across the fabric and lightly gives your design a soft feathery texture. This is used to design branches, twigs, vines and underwater seaweed or coral patterns on the fabric. Learn the stitch technique and its variations like First Fly stitch and second fern stitch.

 

MODULE 8 : HERRING BONE AND CROSS STITCH 

Herringbone stitch, which is sometimes also called mossoul stitch in history, is worked along parallel lines in hand embroidery, creating a decorative border or edging. Learn the techniques, functions and variations in a step-by-step manner. You will come to know about the variations like cross-stitch and its process of doing.

MODULE 9 :  BULLION STITCH AND ITS VARIATION 

Bullion stitch is a decorative technique that is worked by twisting a thread around a sewing needle several times before inserting the needle into the cloth. Short bullion stitches are sometimes called bullion knots.  Learn the making of these two stitches with easy technique.

 

 

MODULE 10 : SATIN, ITS VARIATIONS AND SPIDER STITCH

The stitch is sometimes referred to as a flat satin stitch because the stitches lay flat on the fabric and help in filling the surface and adding value to the surface. It is a series of a straight stitch that is closely stitched together. Learn how to create a beautiful effect on fabric and Other variations of the satin stitch including the long and short satin stitch, padded satin stitch and shaded satin stitch. Learn how to work on Spider stitch.

MODULE 11 : MIRROR WORK AND ITS VARIATIONS

In this topic you will learn about the history of mirror work, its functions and the different techniques by which small pieces of mirrors can be attached to fabric. It is commonly also known as Shisheh or abhla bharat embroidery. This dazzling form of mirror work is most common in the Indian subcontinent, especially in parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan. 

  

MODULE 12 : SEQUINS WORK

Learn about different creative embroidery techniques which will sparkle your creativity. Sequins have a rich history and to this day are a vital component of many folklore art traditions around the world. This topic includes easy and simple techniques of stitching sequins on fabric.

 

 

MODULE 13 : BEAD AND ZARDOZI WORK

Zardozi embroidery (zardozi work) is an ornate metallic embroidery done using the metallic French wire/ metallic spring thread, a shiny circular spiral metal thread in metallic colours of gold and silver. The word zardozi derives from Persian words ‘Zar’ meaning gold and ‘Dosi’ meaning embroidery. In this topic you will learn how to do zardozi embroidery by using different materials like beads, cut pipes and zardozi in creative manner.

MODULE 14 : RIBBON WORK

Ribbon work is different, very creative and attractive. With this topic you will learn to do ribbon embroidery in which you stitch beautiful designs with ribbons on the needle instead of embroidery thread. You will learn splendour and stunning effect on fabric with the given step-by-step ribbon work guide.

 

 

MODULE 15 : APPLIQUE WORK AND ITS VARIATION

 Applique work is a different method of sewing the pieces of cloth. The word “applique” is derived from the French verb “appliquer” which stands for the meaning “to put on. Learn how to tackle various fabric swatches creatively with their different variations.

MODULE 16 : CUTWORK EMBROIDERY

Cutwork is a needlework technique that features embroidered designs with spaces cut completely out of the fabric which was popular during Renaissance period.
